What to do if your plan is ending

  1. Read the letter from your plan. It names the plan that is ending and your choices.
  2. Compare options for 2027 before December 7: another Medicare Advantage plan, or Original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement and a Part D drug plan.
  3. Check that your doctors, hospitals and prescriptions are covered by any plan you consider.
  4. Get free, unbiased help from Texas HICAP (Health Information, Counseling and Advocacy Program) at 800-252-9240, or Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE.
How do I know if my plan is ending in Texas?

Your plan must tell you. You should get a notice by October 2 if your plan is not renewing. You can also look for your plan on this page by company, or check your county page.

Can I keep my doctors if my plan ends?

Not automatically. Each new plan has its own network, so check your doctors and prescriptions against any plan you consider.

Do I have to enroll if I call?

No. Calling is a conversation about your options, and you are never required to enroll.
